Artist Kim Beck, who is currently developing an artwork to go on the High Line, has a great installation in Chelsea that reflects our economically troubled times. “Everything Must Go!” presents the all-too-familiar sight of clearance and going-out-of-business signs. Casual passersby might not realize they are viewing artwork, unless they stop to question why no business is named, or look closely enough to notice that these “signs” are in fact handmade drawings. This installation remains in two stories of windows at the art gallery Mixed Greens through December 23. A reception for the artist will take place at the gallery this Thursday November 12 from 6 to 8 p.m.
